2.2.6.2 Financial Assistance to Seminarians-Theology and Pre-Theology Students

1.    The diocese fully pays room, board and tuition for its theological seminarians as well as those in pretheology. However they are encouraged to defray costs by obtaining grants, scholarships and other funds.

2.    When a rector or dean of theology requires or recommends courses to be taken outside the seminary, with the prior approval of the Director of the Office of Seminarians, the diocese will pay for them.

3.    Students who do not become ordained as diocesan priests are encouraged to contribute to the diocesan seminary fund in gratitude for the support of the diocese.

(Books and school supplies are not paid for by the diocese.  All seminarians receive financial support from the Knights of Columbus to assist with these needs.)
