3.4.1 Parish Pastoral Council and Finance Council
1. Each parish is required to have a pastoral council and a finance council that operate according to the norms contained within Parish Councils and Commissions Guidelines (July 2010 and as revised).
2. For a grave reason, a pastor, parochial administrator or temporary administrator can suspend a pastoral or finance council but only with the prior written permission of the diocesan bishop and only for the time determined by the bishop.
See the bishops' letters on parish pastoral councils (Bishop Carl Mengeling, July 1, 2006 and Bishop Earl Boyea, July 1, 2010). Also see cc. 536-537; c. 1280. [Hereafter, Parish Guidelines (2010).]
