3.4.1 Parish Pastoral Council and Finance Council

1. Each parish is required to have a pastoral council and a finance council that operate according to the norms contained within Parish Councils and Commissions Guidelines (July 2010 and as revised). [1]

2. For a grave reason, a pastor, parochial administrator or temporary administrator can suspend a pastoral or finance council but only with the prior written permission of the diocesan bishop and only for the time determined by the bishop.

[1] See the bishops' letters on parish pastoral councils (Bishop Carl Mengeling, July 1, 2006 and Bishop Earl Boyea, July 1, 2010). Also see cc. 536-537; c. 1280. [Hereafter, Parish Guidelines (2010).]
