4.1.4.6 Non-Catholic Minister Reading or Offering Prayer at Catholic Baptism

1. Pastors, chaplains and rectors are competent to permit a non-Catholic Christian minister to read Scripture or offer a prayer at the celebration of Catholic baptism when a just reason exists in a particular circumstance, and confusion and indifference are avoided.

2. They may extend this permission for use by other priests and deacons.
