5.3.2 Liturgical Roles of the Lay Christian Faithful
1. The lay Christian faithful (i.e., Catholics) who fulfill liturgical functions, especially those of extraordinary minister of Holy Communion and reader, are to be in unimpaired communion with the Catholic Church and live a life in harmony with Catholic moral teachings.
2. They are to be carefully prepared and judged suitable by the pastor, rector or chaplain for exercising their functions.
