5.G.4.1 Recording Rites of Acceptance and Election in the Book of the Elect

1. The names of the catechumens are recorded in the Book of the Elect at two different times: the first entry occurs at the time of the Rite of Acceptance, and the second entry occurs at the time of sending forth for the Rite of Election.

2. After the Rite of Acceptance is celebrated, a first entry is made on a page in the Book of the Elect. Each entry includes the following:

   a. place of celebration (church / city),

   b. date of celebration,

   c. full names of catechumens,

   d. full names of their sponsors.

3. At the time of the sending of the catechumens for the Rite of Election, a second entry is made in the Book of the Elect. Each entry includes the following:    

   a. place of celebration (church / state),

   b. date of celebration,

   c. signature of catechumens being presented to the Bishop.
